Charles Augustus Linamen, son of Charles L. Linamen and Dora Hartman, was born July 14, 1832 in Hanover, Germany, and died September 20, 1901 in Hill City, Venango County, Pennsylvania. He married Suzanna Swartsfager May 31, 1855 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, daughter of Francis Swartsfager and Jerusha Huffman. She was born December 09, 1838 in Pennsylvania, and died August 05, 1905 in Hill City, Venango County, Pennsylvania.

Charles came to the United States when he was 14 years old. Charles lived near Hill City, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Church of God. He served in the Co. G, 56th Pennsylvania regiment between March 6th, 1865 and July 6th, 1865 during the Civil War. Charles and Suzanna had four children: Sylvester, Charles, Madora, and James.
